One of the most famous sketches in "Chappelle's Show" history was when Charlie Murphy recounted a detailed tale of clubbing, late night hoops and pancakes involving Prince and his band, The Revolution.

When it first aired, most probably thought Murphy was using a certain level of artistic license, if not making up the story entirely. Either way was fine ... it was hilarious -- who cares if he was stretching the truth a bit?

Later we heard from Prince's own mouth that the events -- pancakes and all -- were indeed true.

In case that wasn't enough evidence for you, Samuel L. Jackson recently posted an old photo of himself with the late singer at a Lakers game, claiming that Prince confirmed that the legendary story actually happened.

He even added the extra detail about church shoes.

We're still awaiting confirmation that the Rick James story was also true, but we'll keep you posted.

Wink of the CBS eye to Uproxx
