The usual Bill Murray antics are expected, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and World Series champion Mookie Betts are among the other stars who will be on hand. Other top golfers in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am field include Jordan Spieth (20-1), Jason Day (20-1), Justin Rose (28-1), and Maverick McNealy (28-1). Defending champion Daniel Berger (back) and rising star Will Zalatoris (COVID-19) were forced to withdraw.

2022 Pebble Beach AT&T Pro-Am fantasy golf expert picks

Gates is really fond of Spieth this week and is backing him to make a strong run. The former phenom and three-time major champ missed the cut last week, but that was his first event with a weekend off in his last 21 tournaments. He visited a hospital on Wednesday because of a stomach bug, and he opted not to withdraw but shot 78 in the second round. Gates fully expects him to rebound this week at Pebble Beach, where he won in 2017 and tied for third last year. 

On the other hand, the expert doesn't expect anymore surprises from Day and is fading him this week. The 34-year-old hadn't finished higher than 49th and missed a cut in his four events before he ended up in contention at Torrey Pines last week. He hasn't won an event since 2018, and he is 149th in greens in regulation and 117th in driving accuracy. He does have eight top-10's at Pebble Beach, but his inconsistency has Gates steering clear of him this week.
