Derek Jeter on playing golf with Tiger Woods: 'Doesn't get any better than that'
Derek Jeter and Tiger Woods played golf together in the Bahamas on Monday
Tiger Woods played with an interesting foursome on Monday int he Bahamas. Justin Rose, Tino Martinez and Derek Jeter joined Woods for a practice round leading up to his return at the Hero World Challenge this week. Woods seemed giddy to have played with Jeter.
"He asked me a bunch of technical questions about the game, and I could hear him pick the brain over there with Rosie," Woods told USA Today. "He wants to know. He's one of the best athletes who ever lived. He wants to learn. He asks the right questions."
The feeling was mutual for Jeter, who retired from the New York Yankees last year and has apparently been stepping up his time on the course to the point that he (allegedly) took money off President Obama.
"This is a blast," Jeter said. "You're playing with Tiger Woods. Doesn't get any better than that."
The most interesting part to me was Woods' insistence on picking the brains of Jeter and Martinez, who won four World Series' together (Jeter had an additional fifth).
"I was talking to Jetes about it and Tino. How long did it take them to get ready for each game?" Woods told USA Today. "And it took them from 3 to 4 hours as they got older. And it's the same thing for me. ... We miss the days going to the first tee and hitting a drive 300 yards with a balata ball and a persimmon driver. You can't do that anymore."
Hopefully the glutes will activate in time for Thursday's re-emergence.
