More US Open: Leaderboard | Dustin Johnson Blows Chance | Final Round Recap

Jordan Spieth is no stranger to making history, and with his win in the 2015 US Open on Sunday, he joined Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Craig Wood and Ben Hogan as the only golfers to ever win the Masters and US Open in the same year. Spieth came to the 16th tee tied with Branden Grace at -5, but left the green with a three-shot lead.

Grace drove his ball out of bounds and ended up making double bogey. Spieth left his approach shot a bit short and had a lengthy birdie putt which he drilled to go to 6 under.

Spieth then double-bogeyed No. 17 after an uncharacteristic three-putt. He came to 18 having to have a birdie to win the tournament, or a par to force a Monday playoff with Louis Oosthuizen

Spieth ripped his second shot on the par 5 to 15 feet but just missed his eagle putt on the low side. He cleaned up for birdie to post a 5-under 275 and waited, sweating out Dustin Johnson, who was one shot back and in the fairway.

Johnson also had an eagle opportunity on 18 but missed; he then pushed a birdie putt just wide of the hole, putting the championship in Spieth's name.
