After a stunning withdrawal from the Canadian Pacific Women's Open and appendix surgery on Sunday, it was announced on Monday that Michelle Wie will miss at least two weeks while she recovers, her management team said via Golf Channel on Monday.

The final major of the LPGA Tour season is Sept.14-17 in France at the Evian Championship. Wie has finished in the top 20 in three of the first four majors of 2017, so there is an obvious impetus to get back healthy over the next few weeks.

Whether she's able to do that remains to be seen. All we know for now is that she had successful surgery and will attempt to be healthy enough to tee it up in France.

"My appendix is successfully out of my body!!" Wie wrote on Instagram. "Been a super scary and painful 24 hours but I really want to take a moment to thank the medical staff here in Ottawa for making me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. And a huge thank you to all my friends and fans who reached out to me yesterday to check up on me and to wish me a speedy recovery.

"I will be back to playing as soon as the doctors clear me to play!!"
