The 10 tournaments I'm most excited about in 2015
The majors are obviously at the forefront but there are a handful of other events in 2015 that should be must-see TV.

Winter is setting in on us and with it another golf year is walking into the sunset. That's a bummer because it's been a hell of a year, but it also means that 2015 and a bevy of tremendous events are just around the corner.
Sometimes golf tournaments get lost in the shuffle because, well, there are so dang many of them. Nevertheless, there are definitely a few in 2015 that stand out to me.
The majors are obvious but a few others stick out more than Seung-yul Noh's recent wardrobe choices because of how good they might be.
Let's take a look at which tournaments excite me most in the next calendar year.
1. Masters
Did you expect something else?
The story lines will be more abundant than usual this season as Tiger Woods will be coming off his first Augusta absence since the 1990s and Rory McIlroy will be going for the career slam. It should be another spectacle.

2. British Open
The British Open is always my second favorite tournament of any season, but this year it will push the Masters for the No. 1 slot. A return to St. Andrews is always grand, and with McIlroy trying to defend the Claret Jug, it should be something special.
3. US Open
Not to make this post all about McIlroy, but the underrated story of the off-season is that he is one Masters away from taking a shot at the McIlslam at Chambers Bay in June.
If Woods were this close, ESPN would have created a new channel for him by now.
4. PGA Championship
The past two PGA Championships at Whistling Straits were fairly innocuous (though 2011 was weird, if nothing else). Hopefully 2015 will reproduce the same type of tournament we saw at Valhalla in 2014.
5. The Players Championship
I wanted to pull the trigger on The Players at No. 4, but Whistling Straits is a tough beast to ignore. I'm not in love with TPC Sawgrass like some, but along with Augusta, it's the most recognizable course the tour plays each and every season.
I like the familiarity it offers, and if the past two seasons have been any indication, we should be in for another classic in 2015.
6. Farmers Insurance Open
Farmers is the probable spot for Tiger's return to officially-sanctioned PGA Tour events. That shouldn't cause any kind of frenzy at all. I'm sure it will be akin to the Valspar Championship.

7. Arnold Palmer Invitational
The Florida swing (Honda Classic, Cadillac Championship and Arnold Palmer Invitational) always feels like the time of the year when golf really gets cranking.
Tiger has won this tournament eight times -- including the one in 2012 that broke his nearly three-year wins drought. It would be fitting for him to do it here again.
8. The Tour Championship
The luster has usually worn off by September for non-diehards but The Tour Championship is always one of my favorites. Call me crazy, but I love tiny fields of elite golfers and monstrous purses for the top few finishers.
9. WGC Match Play Championship
I think I'm more intrigued than anything by what this tournament will look like at Harding Park. I've become so used to it taking place at Dove Mountain (it hasn't taken place anywhere else since 2008) that it will almost look foreign to be back at Harding.
10. WGC Cadillac Championship
Pick one of the final two WGC events out of a hat here -- either this or the Bridgestone Invitational would do.
