Tiger Woods' new restaurant is going to cost $8 million?
Tiger Woods isn't getting it done on the course, but he's supplementing that lost income with a big-time restaurant to be open later in 2015.
Tiger Woods likes big numbers these days, apparently.
His on-the-course numbers speaks for themselves. Woods also went big on his new restaurant in Jupiter, Florida, according to Sports Illustrated.
The digs will open later on in 2015 (a soft launch in May is the report) and they will not come cheap, said Woods' developer and builder in the project, Nicholas A. Mastroianni II.
"He said Woods is spending $1,000 per square foot in the construction of the restaurant, about 30 percent more than most upscale restaurant owners spend. 'He’s got marble from Italy, granite from another country,' he said. Mastroianni said he expected cocktails to cost about $15 each."
Wait, $1,000 a square foot and the restaurant is 8,000 square feet. That's ... uh, $8 million. I'm not big in the restaurant business but that feels like a lot of money.
I hope Woods, who made a little over $100,000 on the PGA Tour last season, can afford it.
