WATCH: Rickie Fowler comes inches from ace on par 4 at 2015 US Open
Rickie Fowler almost had a hole-in-one on the driveable par-4 12th hole at Chambers Bay.

Rickie Fowler has not had his A-game for most of his first round at Chambers Bay, as he shot a 43 on the front nine after a stretch of double, bogey, triple, double to close the nine. He hasn't had much better luck on the back nine, but did give us a moment of brilliance with his drive on No. 12, the short par 4.
.@RickieFowler almost aced the par-4 12th ... no big deal. #USOpen http://t.co/dmvuFCbOM7

Fowler perfectly played the bank behind the hole with his drive and nearly had it trickle back in the hole -- honestly I'm not sure how it didn't go in with the line it was on. Fowler tapped in for his eagle, which is his only red score on any hole today.
