Two-way star Shohei Ohtani returns to the mound on Wednesday when he and the Los Angeles Angels face the San Francisco Giants in the final game of a three-game series at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Ohtani (9-5, 3.32 ERA) is tied for fifth in all of baseball in strikeouts (160) from the mound while leading the majors in home runs hit (40). Wednesday's start will be his first since leaving his start on Thursday early because of cramps. Los Angeles is a -140 favorite (risk $140 to win $100) in the latest MLB odds, while San Francisco is a +118 underdog. The over/under for runs scored is 8.

The game is one of 15 on the MLB schedule for Wednesday. Elsewhere in the majors, two American League heavyweights -- the Orioles and Astros -- play the second game of their three-game series in Baltimore, and the Reds and Marlins collide in a key matchup in the National League wild card race. After simulating every game on Wednesday 10,000 times, the model is taking Houston (+103) to knock off Baltimore. The Astros (65-49) are in a battle in the AL playoff race. They trail the Rangers (68-46) by three games in the AL West and lead the Blue Jays (64-51) by only 1.5 games for the second AL wild card spot. Meanwhile the young Orioles (70-43) own the best record in the league.

Houston's Kyle Tucker has been a run-producing machine for much of the summer. Since July 1, the All-Star rightfielder is tied for the MLB lead in RBI (33) while slashing .331/.421/.644. On Tuesday, with the Astros trailing by three runs in the ninth inning and the bases loaded, he turned around a 100.4 mph fastball from Baltimore closer Felix Bautista for a go-ahead grand slam in the Astros' 7-6 victory. Prior to last night, Bautista had given up just five earned runs all season. See the model's top MLB picks here.

How to make Wednesday MLB parlays

The model also locked in two other best bets for Wednesday, including a play on an even bigger AL underdog, which would pay plus-money. You can see the model's MLB Wednesday best bets and parlay only at SportsLine.
