Rangers outfielder Alex Rios is dealing with a sore big toe on his left foot, which has plagued him since his time playing on artificial turf in Toronto, MLB.com reports.
"I've had to deal with this for seven years going back to Toronto," Rios said. "When it comes up, it takes a couple of days to go away. When it hurts, it's bad."
The minor injury won't hurt Rios' preparation for the 2014 season. Splitting 2013 between Chicago and Texas, Rios hit .278/.324/.432 with 18 home runs, 81 RBI and 42 stolen bases in 616 at-bats. He also hit .280/.315/.457 after landing with the Rangers but struggled at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (now called Global Life Park in Arlington), hitting just .268/.297/.366 in 112 at-bats.
