A's pitcher Brandon McCarthy released from the hospital
A's pitcher Brandon McCarthy announced his release from the hospital with perhaps the tweet of the year.
Athletics pitcher Brandon McCarthy apparently has been released from the hospital, taking to Twitter and unleashing what, all things considered, may be the best tweet of the year:
WELL IF BEING DISCHARGED FROM THE HOSPITAL ISNT THE BEST TIME TO ASK ABOUT A THREESOME THEN IM FRESH OUT OF IDEAS
— Brandon McCarthy (@BMcCarthy32) September 11, 2012
Although it appears that's not going to work, from his wife:
@bmccarthy32 I WILL strike someone with a brain injury
— Amanda McCarthy (@Mrs_McCarthy32) September 11, 2012
His wife, Amanda, in addition to the response above, earlier tweeted:
Today is the day that Hobbes and I play nurse at home!!

It's fantastic news for McCarthy, the A's and baseball fans everywhere. The way McCarthy has dealt with his injury has been amazing. His Twitter feed has showed his sense of humor was not injured by the ball off the bat of Erick Aybar. McCarthy had emergency surgery last week after the incident and has kept fans up to date from his own Twitter account.
Here's another one of my favorites, from Monday night:
very nice but sorta bossy? RT “@susanslusser: #Angels scoreboard flashes a "Get Well Soon, Brandon McCarthy" message just before first pitch
