David Aardsma ready to return after surgery

Veteran right-handed reliever David Aardsma is set to return to Triple-A Memphis this week after missing time due to surgery for a torn adductor muscle. He is hoping to earn a promotion to the Cardinals in September.

The 32-year-old Aardsma did not make the major league roster after his acquisition at the end of spring training. He was 2-0 with a 0.91 ERA in 28 games with the Redbirds.
