Red Sox pitcher Jake Peavy struggled through one of his worst starts of the season Tuesday, in an 8-2 loss to the Mariners.

Peavy dropped his sixth decision in a row, as the Mariners jumped on him early and often. He was charged with seven runs over five innings of work, and the Mariners chased him with a two-homer fifth inning. He allowed eight hits and a pair of walks in his five innings, while striking out just three on 85 pitches.

Peavy fell to 1-6 with the loss, while his ERA spiked to 4.93. The veteran has not won since late April, while striking out just 74 batters and walking 38 in 98 2/3 innings. His next start is set for Monday against the Cubs.
