Giants pitcher Jake Peavy was unable to factor into the decision Saturday afternoon at home against the Padres, his final start of the regular season. He allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings of work. Of his 92 pitches, 61 were strikes.
Peavy allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last eight starts. He ends the regular season with a 3.73 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP over 32 starts (202 2/3 innings). His next start will come in the postseason, if the Giants advance past the NL Wild Card Game.
