Jered Weaver avoids MRI, scheduled to play catch Saturday

Angels pitcher Jered Weaver did not undergo an MRI on his injured forearm due to the mildness of the injury, and he is scheduled to play catch Saturday before potentially starting Wednesday, the Los Angeles Times reports.

If he starts Wednesday, it'll be Weaver's last action of the season. He owns a 10-8 record, 3.36 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 115:36 K:BB ratio in 147 1/3 innings.
