Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton has been diagnosed with a bone bruise on his left thumb, MLB.com reports.
Hamilton jammed the thumb Thursday after being struck by a pitch during his rehab assignment, and he has yet to play since the injury. He'll remain sidelined for a few days before attempting to participate in batting practice, which could come Wednesday. Hamilton was initially recovering from thumb surgery before suffering the bone bruise.
