SAN FRANCISCO -- Sunday's lineups for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series contains no surprises for either the Cardinals or Giants.

Before the game, Giants manager Bruce Bochy talked about the decision to leave Melky Cabrera off the roster, but his absence was hardly a surprise when the roster was released Sunday. Bochy said the team would continue to use Gregor Blanco and Xavier Nady in left field in the postseason. Blanco starts Game 1 against Lance Lynn of the Cardinals.

"We made that decision, we weren't talking about if they struggled, we were going to change our mind," Bochy said. "We moved forward, explained why and our reasoning when we talked about it. But the biggest reason was the role they played -- we really came together as a team after that."
