The Orioles purchased the contract of catcher Caleb Joseph from Triple-A Norfolk Wednesday.

Regular catcher Matt Wieters is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, despite his MRI coming back clean, and the team will use Joseph as a reserve catcher for however long Wieters is sidelined. Joseph hit .261/.284/.402 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 92 at-bats with Norfolk before joining the Orioles.
