The Reds could entertain dealing second baseman Brandon Phillips this offseason, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
The club was reportedly interested in signing Cuban infielder Alexander Guerrero earlier in the offseason, which initially fueled the rumors. Guerrero would likely command enough money that the team wouldn't want him to be a backup.
On top of that, Phillips angered some members of the organization with his comments this season. Phillips said he felt it was a slap in the face that the team signed a player to a $200 million deal after telling him they didn't have any money. Phillips signed a six-year, $72.5 million deal in 2012.
Phillips hit .261/.310/.396 in 606 at-bats.
