On Friday night, the Cardinals beat the Rockies 5-1 (box score), and in the course of said victory, Cards outfielder Matt Holliday did this ...
This isn't the usual kind of sky-scraping moonshot we feature in these pages. Instead, this was a long home run hit almost on a line drive trajectory -- 110 mph off the bat, as broadcaster Rick Horton alerted us.
Holliday's post-prime these days, but he's still a large and strong (and productive) ballplayer who's capable of inflicting ritual punishment upon the cowhide orb. So it was against his old team on Saturday night.
And, no, don't try to catch that barehanded, you buccaneering maniac in the stands.
