White Sox option Taylor Thompson to Triple-A

The White Sox optioned pitcher Taylor Thompson to Triple-A Charlotte after Sunday's game.

Thompson surrendered three earned runs on one hit and three walks in one-plus innings Sunday, with all three runs coming during an ugly eighth inning. After giving up runs in his last three outings, Thompson owns a 10.13 ERA, 2.44 WHIP and 4:4 K:BB ratio in 5 1/3 innings.
