Danry Vasquez: Released by Astros

Vasquez was released by the Astros Wednesday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports. It was first announced that the MLB had suspended Vasquez indefinitely, which was subsequently followed by the news taht the Astros had released him. It is currently unclear what triggered the suspension and release. He was hitting .265 in 60 games for Double-A Corpus Christi.

The Astros have acquired outfielder Danry Vasquez from the Tigers. The team received Vasquez and a player to be named later for closer Jose Veras. The 19-year-old Vasquez has hit .281/.333/.390 in 374 at-bats in Class A West Michigan.
