  • Dodgers' Ty Kelly: Links up with Dodgers

    Rotowire
    Kelly announced Sunday via his personal Twitter account that he signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers. After briefly retiring in 2019, Kelly elected to resume his career in 2021 in independent ball. He eventually caught on with the Mariners on a minor-league deal, appearing in 22 games last season for the organization's Triple-A affiliate and posting a .670 OPS over 90 plate appearances. Kelly will presumably report to Triple-A Oklahoma City with his new organization once the minor-league season gets underway.

  • Mariners' Ty Kelly: Joins Mariners organization

    The Mariners purchased Kelly's contract from the Long Island Ducks on Saturday, Michael Pfaff of the Long Island Ducks reports. Kelly had been under contract in the independent Atlantic League, but now joins the Seattle organization. The 32-year-old has appeared in 118 major-league games with the Mets and Phillies, all of which came between 2016 and 2018.
