The Mariners announced Monday that Vincej will serve as a coach on Triple-A Tacoma's staff in 2022. Vincej's transition into coaching signals the end of his playing career. The 30-year-old infielder inked a minor-league deal with the Mariners last summer, but he never appeared in any games in 2021 before electing free agency earlier in the offseason. After entering the professional ranks in 2012 as a 37th-round draft pick of the Reds, Vincej went on to spent parts of two seasons (2017 and 2018) in the majors with Cincinnati and Seattle, logging three hits over 16 career plate appearances.... Mariners' Zach Vincej: Lands MiLB deal with M's
Vincej signed a minor-league contract with the Mariners on June 3 and was assigned to the organization's rookie-level Arizona League affiliate. After electing free agency following the 2019 season, Vincej appeared to be transitioning into a post-playing career, as he had accepted a coaching position at Pepperdine, his alma mater. The 30-year-old infielder has apparently since reconsidered his stance, and he'll attempt to reboot his career with Seattle, the organization in which he spent the 2018 campaign. Vincej enjoyed cups of coffee in the big leagues with both Cincinnati and Seattle in 2017 and 2018, respectively, appearing in 10 games between the two clubs.... See More ... See Less

France in his walkoff interview yesterday said it was great to see them score on something other than the HR and put pressure on the starters. Haniger single scores another. 3-0
