Blackwood spent the 2023 season with Triple-A Tacoma as a member of the Mariners' organization. He posted a 4.75 ERA and 1.44 WHIP across 47.1 innings and will likely serve as organizational depth for his new club.

Blackwood signed with the Twins on a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Blackwood had spent the last three seasons in the Detroit organization, and the right-hander appeared in 44 games with Triple-A Toledo with a 3.81 ERA and a 38:19 K:BB in 49.2 innings of work. He'll provide pitching depth with Triple-A St. Paul in the 2023 campaign.
