Mark Bowman@mlbbowman2H agoThe Braves will evaluate Jesse Chavez’s performance today to determine if he’s a fit for the Opening Day roster. Chavez could be the long guy who would help as the Braves play the first seven days. But carrying Smith-Shawver to start at least one game makes a lot of sense too

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL20H agoElder pitched the last three innings of the scoreless tie for the #Braves at Lakeland and allowed just one hit, no walks with three Ks, threw 25 strkes in 39 pitches. Cal Conley (2-for-3) had half of the Braves' hits.

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL21H ago#Braves' Reynaldo López: 6 IP, 5 H (all singles), 0 BB, 2 K, 72 pitches/48 strikes, FB avg. 93.3 mph. Finishes spring with 2.08 ERA and 1.31 WHIP in 4 Grapefruit League starts, w/ 5 Ks and 4 walks in 13 innings. (Also pitched in a back-field game.)
