Mark Bowman@mlbbowman2H agoThe Braves will evaluate Jesse Chavez’s performance today to determine if he’s a fit for the Opening Day roster. Chavez could be the long guy who would help as the Braves play the first seven days. But carrying Smith-Shawver to start at least one game makes a lot of sense too -

David O'Brien@DOBrienATL20H agoElder pitched the last three innings of the scoreless tie for the #Braves at Lakeland and allowed just one hit, no walks with three Ks, threw 25 strkes in 39 pitches. Cal Conley (2-for-3) had half of the Braves' hits.
