  • Orioles' Mickey Jannis: Moves back to Triple-A

Jannis was promoted from Double-A Bowie to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports. Jannis was demoted to Bowie in mid-August, and things haven't improved much for him since, as he's allowed 26 earned runs on 42 hits across 29 Double-A innings. Despite those struggles, he'll return to Norfolk and could remain there for the remainder of the season.

Jannis was demoted from Triple-A Norfolk to Double-A Bowie on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Jannis spent the last month and a half with Norfolk after clearing waivers in late June. Things haven't gotten better for the knuckleballer, as he posted a 7.25 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in 22.1 Triple-A innings. He'll now head to Bowie, where he'll look to right the ship.

Jannis was recalled to the big leagues Tuesday but was DFA'd on Friday after allowing seven runs across 3.1 innings during his Wednesday major-league debut. He'll remain with the organization, though he'll need to be re-added to the 40-man roster should the Orioles decide to give him another look in the majors.

  • Orioles' Mickey Jannis: Unimpressive in major-league debut

Jannis allowed seven runs on eight hits and four walks while striking out one over 3.1 innings in a 13-0 loss to Houston on Wednesday. The 33-year-old knuckleballer was hit hard by Houston, allowing three home runs in his major-league debut. Jannis was called upon for a multi-inning assignment after starter Thomas Eshelman also labored through four innings. Jannis is unlikely to see much, if any, high-leverage work while in the majors.
