  • Dodgers' Ryan Ward: Headed to Triple-A

Ward was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday. Ward will head to Oklahoma City after batting .156 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored over 32 at-bats in 12 games during spring training with the Dodgers. The 28-year-old will open the 2026 season at the Triple-A level, and he'll look to into a groove in an attempt to get a shot with the major-league roster in the coming months.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Ward: Talked up by GM

Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said during last week's GM Meetings that Ward is expected to "get a bunch of opportunities at some point this year," Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports. Ward was never called up by the Dodgers in 2025 despite slashing a robust .292/.382/.558 with 36 homers and 16 steals at Triple-A Oklahoma City, but he was added to the 40-man roster earlier this month. The 27-year-old can play the corner outfield spots and first base and is worthy of an opportunity at the big-league level. While the Dodgers appear to have a starting job in the outfield available and Gomes has talked Ward up, it still seems unlikely the club would head into 2026 counting on Ward to be a regular presence in its lineup.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Ward: Added to 40-man roster

The Dodgers selected Ward's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Ward spent the entire 2025 campaign at Oklahoma City, where he slashed .292/.382/.558 with 36 homers, 122 RBI, 113 runs scored and 16 stolen bases over 143 games. The 27-year-old outfielder will now receive a spot on the 40-man as a reward for his impressive performance, though he may have to wait a bit longer for his chance to play regularly on a talent-laden Dodgers squad.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Ward: Sent to minor-league camp

Ward was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Dodgers on Sunday. Ward struggled at the plate in spring training, going 1-for-16 with two walks, a run scored and eight strikeouts while appearing in 10 games. The outfielder will almost certainly begin the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Oklahoma, where he batted .258 with 33 home runs, 101 RBI, 78 runs scored and 11 stolen bases over 120 contests in 2024.

  • Dodgers' Ryan Ward: Reassigned to minors camp

The Dodgers reassigned Ward to minor-league camp Wednesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports. Ward spent all of last season with Double-A Tulsa, where he slashed .255/.318/.488 over an even 500 plate appearances. His spring numbers weren't bad either (10-for-36, five RBI), so there is a decent chance the Dodgers challenge the 25-year-old outfielder and bump him up to Triple-A Oklahoma City for the start of 2023.
