Yardley (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
The righty last pitched for the Brewers on April 28 before landing on the IL with a shoulder strain. A couple rough outings are responsible for Yardley's 5.73 ERA on the season, but he did have six scoreless appearances (out of 10) and will serve as another middle-innings option out of the bullpen.
Yardley (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Yardley has been out with a shoulder strain since the start of May. Given his relatively brief absence, he likely won't need too many rehab outings before he's ready to go.
Yardley landed on the 10-day injured list with a strained right shoulder Saturday.
Yardley has made 10 relief appearances this season but hasn't had much success. He owns a 5.73 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 4:4 K:BB in 11 innings of work. Patrick Weigel was recalled in a corresponding move.
Yardley was recalled by the Brewers on Saturday.
Yardley opened the season on the big-league roster but struggled through his first five relief appearances, giving up five runs in five innings while walking three and striking out just two. He was optioned Monday but returns to the roster just five days later, with Christian Yelich (back) landing on the injured list in a corresponding move.
Yardley was optioned to the Brewers' alternate training site Monday.
Yardley struggled to begin the season and posted a 9.00 ERA and 2.00 WHIP in five relief innings as a middle reliever. He'll head to alternate camp to work on things after the Brewers recalled left-hander Angel Perdomo on Monday.
Yardley tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Friday's exhibition game against the Cubs.
Yardley allowed two earned runs in his first appearance of the spring and one earned run in his second, but he was able to keep the opponent off the scoreboard Friday. While his results haven't been great thus far, Yardley is set to open the season in the Brewers' bullpen after posting a 1.54 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 23.1 innings over 24 relief appearances a year ago.
Yardley (shin) struck out one over a perfect inning of relief Wednesday in the Brewers' 6-1 win over the Reds.
Yardley suffered a shin contusion in his prior relief outing last week against the Royals, but his appearance five days later suggests the injury isn't a concern any longer. With runs allowed in only one of his last 11 games, Yardley is starting to establish himself as a dependable option out of the bullpen.
Yardley suffered a shin contusion during Friday's win against the Royals, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Yardley was hit by a shot up the middle during Friday's contest and underwent X-rays following the game. However, the X-rays came back negative, so he appears to have avoided a serious injury. Manager Craig Counsell said that the team will evaluate his status again Saturday to determine when he could be available to return.
Yardley got a chance to close out Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader with the Cardinals, but he recorded just one out and was charged with a blown save.
Yardley got his first real opportunity to save a game after the Brewers' regular late-inning relievers all pitched in Game 1 of Monday's double dip, but he could not seal the deal and was replaced by Drew Rasmussen, who took him off the hook for a possible loss. Yardley still owns a 1.93 ERA on the season, but he figures to continue mostly pitching in middle relief.
Yardley (2-0) pitched two perfect innings and struck out three to earn the win Wednesday versus the Tigers.
Yardley worked the sixth and seventh innings, and the Brewers took the lead in the bottom of the seventh to make him the pitcher of record. The 30-year-old righty has a 1.80 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 13 strikeouts through 15 innings this season. He's pitched 4.1 consecutive scoreless innings, typically in middle relief.
Yardley tossed an inning of relief and picked up the first win of his career in Sunday's victory over the Cubs.
Yardley was not particularly sharp Sunday, hitting a batter and allowing two inherited runners to score and tie the game. However, he did not allow an earned run of his own and found himself in position to grab the win when the Brewers scored the decisive run the next inning. Yardley has already pitched nine times this season, and he has been a steady middle-relief option for the Brewers, allowing just one earned run over 9.1 innings (0.96 ERA) and posting a respectable 1.18 WHIP.
Yardley will open the season on the Brewers' 30-man roster.
The Brewers optioned Yardley to the minors in March, but he got another chance to make the club during summer camp and was able to secure a spot. The side-arming Yardley recorded at least four outs in four of his 10 appearances out of the Padres' bullpen last season, so he could be used in several roles, even though he won't be part of the Brewers' late-inning mix.
Yardley was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio on Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
The 29-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Padres in November and was competing for a spot in the Brewers' bullpen, but it appears he'll be in the minors when play resumes. Yardley spent most of 2019 at Triple-A and posted a 2.83 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over 63.2 innings.
Yardley tossed a scoreless ninth inning and picked up a save in Thursday's spring game against the Royals.
Yardley won't be in the mix for saves when the regular season begins, but it is at least notable that he got the job done when given the opportunity. Yardley, who was effective in 10 relief appearances with the Padres last season, is competing for a spot in the Brewers' bullpen this spring.
Yardley was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Friday.
Previous reports that Yardley had been released by the Padres were evidently incorrect, as he was subject to waivers instead. Yardley will fight for a bullpen spot in Milwaukee during spring training.
Yardley was released by the Padres on Friday, Andersen Pickard of MLBDailyDish.com reports.
The 29-year-old got into his first MLB action in 2019, posting a 2.31 ERA in 11.2 innings of work. His 13.5 percent strikeout rate casts some doubt on his ability to repeat that mark over a larger sample.
Yardley was designated for assignment by the Padres on Monday.

Yardley is expected to be optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Yardley was called up Wednesday to make his major-league debut. He's made two appearances overall, allowing three earned runs in three innings. He'll be optioned to make room for Austin Allen.
Yardley (0-1) took the loss against Cincinnati on Wednesday, pitching one-third of an inning and allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and a walk.
The 29-year-old was called up Wednesday for his first big-league opportunity after 297 career appearances in the minors. His debut got off to an inauspicious start when Nick Senzel lined his first pitch to left fielder Josh Naylor, who misplayed the ball for a two-base error. After Jose Iglesias laid down a sacrifice bunt, Yardley allowed the following three hitters to reach base before exiting the game. Manager Andy Green attributed the rough outing in part to a "bad break" on the error, so perhaps Yardley will get another opportunity to prove that he can succeed at the major-league level.
