What you need to know about the Mavericks

The Mavericks picked up a 114-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. Dallas' point guard Jalen Brunson looked sharp as he had 28 points and six assists. Doncic is one of six players in protocols, while Kristaps Porzingis (toe) remains day-to-day.

Brunson (15.3 ppg) is the top available scorer, so look for him to put up big numbers. Dorian Finney-Smith (10.1 ppg) should also be a big part of the offense. The Mavs are thin down low, but big man Dwight Powell is expected to be available.

What you need to know about the Bucks

Meanwhile, Milwaukee made easy work of the Houston Rockets on Wednesday and carried off a 126-106 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Milwaukee had established a 97-76 advantage. Among those leading the charge for them was point guard Jrue Holiday, who posted a double-double on 24 points and 10 dimes.

Missing Antetokounmpo is always going to hurt, but Milwaukee is in better shape than many NBA teams with Holiday and Khris Middleton both available. That gives the Bucks a couple of very capable scorers.
