  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Erupts in return for G League club

Dorsey (illness) tallied 47 points (16-27 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 6-8 FT), four assists, two rebounds and one steal across 36 minutes Tuesday in the G League Texas Legends' 138-135 loss to the Birmingham Squadron.

Dorsey hadn't played for the Legends or the Mavericks in the past week while recovering from an illness, but he returned to action with a flourish Tuesday. His 47 points were the most by a G League player in a single game this season. Over his 12 appearances for the Legends on the campaign, Dorsey is averaging 24.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.8 treys, 2.0 assists and 0.9 steals in 31.8 minutes.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Continues prolific outside shooting

Dorsey tallied 39 points (10-21 FG, 9-12 3Pt, 7-9 FT), eight rebounds, five assists and one steal in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 139-129 win over the Hustle.

Dorsey has now hit at least five threes in consecutive games. While he only converted on 1-of-9 two-point shots, his shooting from range was more than sufficient. Dorsey posted a team-high plus-21 mark in Tuesday's win.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Efficient from range

Dorsey posted 26 points (6-10 FG, 5-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds and two assists in 27 minutes during Saturday's 143-132 win over the Vipers.

Dorsey scored his 26 points on just 10 field-goal attempts. While the trio of Dorsey, McKinley Wright and Jaden Hardy combined for 90 points, the Vipers' 143 points were too much to overcome.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Scores season high

Dorsey tallied 41 points (11-18 FG, 8-13 3Pt, 7-8 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes during Monday's 141-133 win over the Lakeland Magic.

Dorsey's 41 points on great efficiency were a major catalyst in the Legends scoring 141 points. While he did cough up five turnovers, Dorsey posted a game-high plus-22 mark.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Drops 30 points in win

Dorsey recorded 30 points (7-15, 1-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds and one assist in 37 minutes during Wednesday's 127-114 win over the Mexico City Capitanes.

Dorsey's overall efficiency numbers don't stand out, but his ability to get to and convert at the free-throw line helped him post a game-high in points. Dorsey has proven to be one of the best high-volume scorers on the Legends.

Dorsey posted 25 points (8-15 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and two steals in Saturday's 129-103 win over the Birmingham Squadron.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Efficiency struggles continue

Dorsey posted 11 points (3-14 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two steals, one rebound and one assist in 26 minutes during Saturday's 127-122 loss to the Austin Spurs.

Dorsey posted a team-low -13 plus-minus. Dorsey has now started the season shooting 7-of-27 from the field and 3-of-12 from three-point range through two games.

Dorsey led the team in rebounds and added three offensive rebounds. However, the 26-year-old guard had a -10 box plus-minus. Dorsey will need to improve upon his efficiency if he wants to earn more playing time with the Mavericks.

  • Mavericks' Tyler Dorsey: Signs two-way contract with Dallas

Dorsey signed a two-way contract with the Mavericks on Sunday.

Dorsey spent last season playing for Olympiacos Piraeus and earned Greek Cup MVP honors after leading his squad to the Greek League Title. In EuroLeague action, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 12.8 points on 44.3 percent shooting across 38 games. He was drafted by the Hawks in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft and was later traded to the Grizzlies. Dorsey has appeared in 104 career NBA games (16 starts), posting 6.7 points and 2.3 rebounds across 16.1 minutes.

  • Tyler Dorsey: Signs with Israeli club

Dorsey signed a one-year contract Saturday with Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv, reports. The deal also includes an option for the 2020-21 campaign.

A second-round selection in 2017, Dorsey made 104 appearances between the Hawks and Grizzlies over the past two seasons before hitting the open market this summer when Memphis declined to extend him a qualifying offer. Had he elected to continue his career stateside, Dorsey likely would have had to settle for a deal with limited guaranteed money attached to it, so he'll head overseas and get some greater financial security. Since he's just 23 years old, Dorsey has plenty of time to boost his stock overseas and garner renewed interest from NBA teams.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Won't get qualifying offer

The Grizzlies will not extend a qualifying offer to Dorsey, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

The Oregon product split last season between Atlanta and Memphis, and he had a relatively strong finish to the season, averaging 14.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists over his final 11 games with the Grizzlies. Per Wojnarowski, the Grizzlies may entertain bringing Dorsey back on a new deal later this summer.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Strong stat line in win

Dorsey totaled 17 points (7-15 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and one assist across 26 minutes in the Grizzlies' win over the Mavericks on Friday.

Dorsey remained with the starting five on Friday with Avery Bradley (lower leg) out for the eighth game in a row. In his recent eight game stint in the starting lineup, Dorsey has averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 boards and 3.3 assists in 31.1 minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Remains productive in loss

Dorsey supplied 14 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt) and one assist across 25 minutes in the Grizzlies' 113-96 loss to the Clippers on Sunday.

Dorsey continued in the starting five with Avery Bradley (lower leg) missing a seventh consecutive contest. Dorsey has now hit double digits in the scoring column in three of his past four games, and in four of the seven Bradley has missed overall. Additionally, despite the scoring-dependent stat line Sunday, the 23-year-old has been a solid contributor in rebounds and assists at different points over the past several games as well.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Scores 21 points in Monday's win

Dorsey delivered 21 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 4-7 FT), eight rebounds, and five assists in 39 minutes during Monday's 115-103 win over the Thunder.

Dorsey hauled in a career high rebounding total while amassing 20-plus points for the second time in the last three contests. Mike Conley (thigh) has missed both of the games that Dorsey has gone off during, with the first of those absences being for rest purposes. For as long as Conley remains sidelined, Dorsey seems destined to continue earning ample minutes.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Career night in OT loss

Dorsey scored a team-high 29 points (11-19 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 2-7 FT) while adding nine assists, three rebounds and a steal in 43 minutes during Friday's 123-119 overtime loss to the Magic.

Getting his first start of the season in place of Mike Conley (rest), Dorsey set career highs in points and assists, although his struggles from the charity stripe likely cost the Grizzlies the game. The second-year guard has been seeing more minutes with Avery Bradley (lower leg) sidelined, but unless Conley is also in street clothes, Dorsey's usual role gives him a very limited fantasy ceiling.

  • Grizzlies' Tyler Dorsey: Starting in place of Conley

Dorsey will start Friday's contest against the Magic, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.

Mike Conley is getting the night off for rest, so Dorsey will start at point guard. It will mark his first start of the season. On the three occasions he's played more than 20 minutes this season, Dorsey has averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 assist.
