Top Ivica Zubac News

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Secures 15 boards

Zubac posted 13 points (5-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 15 rebounds, one assist and one steal across 27 minutes during Saturday's 123-96 loss to Sacramento.

Zubac enjoyed another big night on the glass, recording 10 of his 15 rebounds on the defensive end. He also collected another double-double, marking his third in four contests. Zubac is averaging 10.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.7 blocks over 24 games this season.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Another double-double

Zubac provided 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds, one block and two steals over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 118-112 victory over the Trail Blazers.

Zubac was coming off a career-best performance with 31 points and 29 rebounds against the Pacers on Nov. 27, and even though he couldn't repeat those numbers here while battling with Jusuf Nurkic down low, at least he recorded a second straight double-double -- marking it just the second time he accomplished that feat in back-to-back contests in the current season. Zubac has enjoyed a bigger role on offense due to the persistent injury issues of both Kawhi Leonard (ankle) and Paul George (hamstring), and he's averaging 14.2 points with 13.8 rebounds per contest over his last five outings.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Erupts for 31 points, 29 boards

Zubac ended with 31 points (14-17 FG, 3-3 FT), 29 rebounds, three assists and three blocks across 36 minutes before fouling out of Sunday's 114-100 win over Indiana.

Zubac secured an eye-popping 29 rebounds Sunday, setting a new NBA season high. He registered his fourth double-double of November by dominating on the offensive end, securing 12 offensive boards and scoring all but six of his points from inside the restricted area. Despite this massive performance, the center has scored in double figures in just two of his last eight contests, including Sunday's matchup.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Dominates glass in win

Zubac contributed nine points (3-8 FG, 3-4 FT), 18 rebounds and one assist over 40 minutes during Thursday's 96-91 win over Detroit.

Zubac was a force on the glass all night, grabbing 11 rebounds in the first half, with four coming on the offensive end. The Clippers center finished with a game-high 18 boards, the second time he's reached that mark this season, though he failed to record a block for just the third time in 16 games. Zubac also didn't score double figures for the third consecutive game despite playing a season-high 40 minutes Thursday.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Game-high 15 rebounds

Zubac ended Saturday's 110-95 loss to Brooklyn with 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 FT) and 15 rebounds across 28 minutes.

Zubac got after it on the boards early, grabbing five rebounds in the first quarter before adding another four in the second, along with eight points on 2-of-2 shooting from the field. He also knocked down four of six free throws in the quarter, finishing the first half just one rebound shy of a double-double. The Clippers big man scored only six points in the second half on 3-of-4 shooting, though he did add another six boards to give him a game-high 15 on the night. Zubac has now recorded six double-doubles on the season and has scored in double figures in five straight games.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: One rebound shy of double-double

Zubac ended Sunday's 110-102 loss to Utah with 12 points (6-12 FG), nine rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals across 35 minutes.

The Clippers are currently playing with a very tight rotation, so Zubac is manning the center spot with very little competition. Aside from occasional situations when a small-ball approach is the sensible strategy, Zubac will be in line for 25-to-30 minutes regularly. The boosted workload has the big man off to the best statistical start of his career.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Posts another double-double

Zubac supplied 17 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one steal in 36 minutes during Friday's 113-106 win over the Spurs.

Zubac was extremely efficient, as he only missed two shots in the entire contest and posted solid numbers across the board en route to his fifth double-double of the season. Zubac has established himself as a bonafide two-way threat while doing a good job as a starter. While he's still lacking consistency on a game-to-game basis, the numbers have been quite good overall. He's averaging 10.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.2 blocks per game across his last six contests.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Double-doubles, swats four shots

Zubac had 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 FT), 12 rebounds, four blocks and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 95-93 victory over Houston.

Zubac has been thriving as the Clippers' starting center and is starting to become a nightly double-double threat every time he steps on the court. The big man has struggled a bit when it comes to consistency on a game-to-game basis, but he has four double-doubles in seven outings while scoring in double figures in all but two games to date.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Posts double-double in loss

Zubac notched 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 14 rebounds, two assists and seven blocks over 35 minutes during Tuesday's 108-94 loss to the Thunder.

The Clippers didn't have a good performance Tuesday, but Zubac took advantage of the absence of Kawhi Leonard (knee) and Paul George (illness) to enjoy a bigger role on offense, as the nine field-goal attempts represented a season-high mark for him. He's likely not going to be the alpha dog for the Clippers any time soon, but the fact that he has three double-digit scoring games and two double-doubles through four contests is certainly encouraging.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Quiet in loss

Zubac posted two points (1-4 FG), eight rebounds and two assists in 21 minutes during Sunday's 112-95 loss to the Suns.

Zubac was unable to get going offensively. The Clippers were down 20 points at halftime, which prompted a switch to more small-ball in an attempt catch up. That being said, Zubac hovering around 20 minutes will happen periodically throughout the season on a deep and versatile Clippers squad.

  • Clippers' Ivica Zubac: Dominates in prolific performance

Zubac registered 14 points (6-6 FG, 2-4 FT), 17 rebounds, one assist and five blocks across 35 minutes during Thursday's 103-97 win over the Lakers.

Zubac was arguably the best player on the floor in the win, notching a double-double to go with five blocks. It was certainly a dominant effort from Zubac who finds himself as basically the only true center option on the Clippers' roster. He likely won't be this good every night but given the clear path to minutes, he should remain a very reliable 12-team commodity the rest of the way.
