  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Ruled out Friday

Aldama (illness) is out for Friday's game against the Pelicans, head coach Taylor Jenkins told Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal. Aldama exited Wednesday's win over Charlotte early due to this illness, and while he's not likely to miss considerable time, he won't be ready to face New Orleans. This means his next chance to suit up will come Saturday against Utah in the second leg of a back-to-back set, although it wouldn't be surprising if he misses that game as well.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Iffy for Friday

Aldama (illness) is questionable for Friday's game against the Pelicans. Aldama exited Wednesday's win over Charlotte early due to the illness, during which he amassed two points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 19 minutes. If the 24-year-old is sidelined Friday, Brandon Clarke and Luke Kennard could see extended run with the second unit.

Aldama has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's game against the Hornets due to illness. Aldama posted two points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 19 minutes off the bench before being ruled out in the fourth quarter. The reserve big man will look to move past the illness ahead of the Grizzlies' next game Friday versus the Pelicans.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Held in check

Aldama posted two points (1-8 FG, 0-7 3Pt, 0-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 15 minutes during Monday's 108-106 win over the Timberwolves. Aldama was coming off an impressive two-game stretch with averages of 24.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists, but he couldn't generate much offensively Monday. His production has been sporadic for most of the season, and it's tough for him to provide consistent value with the Grizzlies having such a deep rotation.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Scores season-high 29 points

Aldama finished Friday's 140-112 victory over the Spurs with 29 points (10-19 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 4-4 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 30 minutes. The Grizzlies destroyed the Spurs to the tune of a 28-point victory, and Aldama played a prominent role in the win. He logged 30 minutes despite not starting, as he was part of the main lineup once Zach Edey (nose) departed the contest. The Spaniard has scored at least 20 points in back-to-back games while scoring in double digits in four of his last five outings. His bench role limits his upside a bit, but he's a reliable performer in deep formats due to his ability to easily rack up stats.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Double-doubles in win

Aldama contributed 20 points (9-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists over 27 minutes during Wednesday's 129-115 win over the Spurs. Aldama got back in the swing of things, recording his first double-double in almost a month. After a red-hot start to the season, Aldama's role has reduced over the past few weeks. He remains a key piece of their second unit and can slide seamlessly into the starting five should the opportunity arise. Over the past month, Aldama has averaged 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in 20.5 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Goes for 12 and nine in return

Aldama (ankle) recorded 12 points (4-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-5 FT), nine rebounds and one steal across 23 minutes in Thursday's 119-115 loss to the Rockets. Suiting up for the first time since Dec. 26 after missing six straight games with a sprained left ankle, Aldama saw the second-most minutes of any Grizzlies bench player and produced some useful counting statistics in his return. The poor shooting from the field and free-throw line limited the overall impact of his performance in category leagues, however. The Grizzlies are now at close to full strength in the frontcourt, but if Aldama can continue to hold down a 20-to-25-minute bench role, he could maintain some appeal as a low-end option in 12-team leagues.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Returning to action Tuesday

Aldama (ankle) is available for Thursday's game against the Rockets. Aldama will suit up and snap a six-game absence streak due to a sprained left ankle. The 23-year-old sustained the injury Dec. 26 after playing only three minutes during the blowout win over Toronto, and in the five outings prior to sustaining the ankle sprain, he had averaged 13.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.8 blocks across 244 minutes per contest.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Questionable for Thursday

Aldama (ankle) is questionable for Thursday's game against the Rockets. An ankle sprain could cause Aldama to miss his seventh straight game Thursday, but the big man will have a chance to suit up. If Aldama cannot go for the Grizzlies, players such as Brandon Clarke, Jake LaRavia and Jay Huff figure to continue picking up the slack in the frontcourt against Houston.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Will remain sidelined Monday

Aldama (ankle) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Mavericks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. Aldama sprained his left ankle in late December and is considered week-to-week with the injury. Monday will be his sixth game missed due to the injury, and his next opportunity to play will be Thursday against the Rockets.

Aldama (ankle) is out for Friday's game versus the Pelicans. Aldama will miss Friday's contest after leaving Memphis' previous outing against Toronto early due to a left ankle sprain. • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Leaves early with ankle injury

Aldama left Thursday's 155-126 win over the Raptors due to a left ankle injury and didn't return. He finished with three points (2-3 FG) and three rebounds over three minutes. Aldama was helped back to the locker room during the first quarter of Thursday's contest, and he was unable to put much weight on his left ankle. The 23-year-old will likely undergo further testing to determine the extent of his injury. Jake LaRavia could benefit from opportunities if Aldama is forced to miss Friday's game against the Pelicans and any additional games that follow.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Double-double in Thursday's rout

Aldama finished Thursday's 144-93 victory over Golden State with a team-high 21 points (8-16 FG, 5-10 3Pt), 14 rebounds, four assists, one block and two steals in 25 minutes off the bench. It's the eighth double-double of the season for Aldama, and the fourth-year big led the Grizzlies in scoring and rebounding on the night while tying his season high in made three-pointers. He's been impressive over the last month since moving back to the bench, and across the last 14 games, he's averaging 15.1 points, 8.1 boards, 2.6 assists, 2.4 threes and 0.9 steals while shooting 57.0 percent from the floor and a stunning 55.0 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Steps up from bench with 19 points

Aldama totaled 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, three blocks and one steal in 20 minutes during Sunday's 140-112 victory over the Wizards. Aldama lost his spot in the starting lineup upon Desmond Bane's return to action, but he continues to make a case for more playing time with excellent second-unit totals. He inflicted his multi-category damage in only 20 minutes, and we've already seen Aldama's upside while logging more time with the first unit. His recent performances warrant fantasy consideration in deeper formats despite his spot in the rotation.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Notches 15 points in win

Aldama closed with 15 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt), four rebounds, six assists and one steal over 25 minutes during Sunday's 136-121 win over the Pacers. Aldama continues to shine for Memphis, and it will be interesting to see what the frontcourt rotation looks like when Zach Edey (ankle) returns, possibly as soon as Tuesday. Over his last seven games, Aldama has produced impressive averages of 15.3 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.1 three-pointers.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Nabs double-double in win

Aldama finished Monday's 123-98 win over the Trail Blazers with 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 0-1 FT), 17 rebounds and two assists over 22 minutes. Aldama delivered his sixth double-double in 18 regular-season appearances and has totaled three over his last four outings. The 23-year-old dominated on the glass while supplying a game-high 17 rebounds and was the only player to reach the double-digit mark. In five outings since retreating to the bench, Aldama has averaged 13.8 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists across 25.2 minutes per game.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Strong showing off bench

Aldama finished Wednesday's 117-111 victory over the 76ers with 12 points (4-9 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes. Aldama moved back to the bench with the return of Desmond Bane to the starting lineup, but that hasn't prevented the Spaniard from putting up solid numbers every time he's on the hardwood. Even though the move back to the second unit will limit his upside considerably, Aldama continues to contribute enough to remain valuable in most formats. He's averaging 12.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game while starting in seven of his 10 appearances since the beginning of November.

  • Grizzlies' Santi Aldama: Slides back to bench Sunday

Aldama is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Nuggets, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. With Desmond Bane (oblique) having made his return to game action in Friday's loss to Golden State, he will now replace Aldama in the starting five. The 23-year-old forward has carved out a significant role with the Grizzlies, averaging 12.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 0.8 steals across 29.0 minutes per game in 13 regular-season outings (11 starts).

Aldama is making the most of Desmond Bane's absence due to an oblique injury, and he continues to deliver excellent two-way numbers every time he steps on the court. Aldama has scored in double digits while grabbing at least five rebounds in five games in a row, and he's averaging 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game in six November appearances.
