  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Won't play Saturday

Toppin (shoulder) is out for Saturday's game versus the Wizards, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Saturday will be the sixth straight game on the inactive list for Toppin, and the Hawks haven't released any updates about his recovery, so he should be viewed as week-to-week moving forward. The two-way player is not a consistent part of the Hawks' rotation, so he can safely remain on the waiver wire in all redraft leagues.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Ruled out Friday

Toppin (shoulder) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Nuggets. Toppin will miss his fourth consecutive contest due to a right shoulder sprain. The forward has appeared in just five games for the Hawks this season, logging an average of 3.4 minutes played, so his absence will not significantly impact Atlanta's rotation.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Recalled, won't play Sunday

The Hawks recalled Toppin from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Sunday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. However, he won't play in Sunday's game against the 76ers due to a right shoulder sprain, per Rowland. Toppin posted 18 points (6-10 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 23 minutes in College Park's 113-108 G League win over the Delaware Blue Coats on Saturday. However, he sustained a right shoulder injury in the win. His next opportunity to play for the parent club will come Monday against the Pistons.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Rare sighting Tuesday

Toppin closed Tuesday's 132-113 loss to the Wizards with two points (1-2 FG) across seven minutes. Toppin logged a season-high seven minutes, cracking the rotation for just the fifth time this season. All five of his appearances have come during garbage time, making him a non-factor in all fantasy formats.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Back from G League

The Hawks recalled Toppin from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Tuesday. The two-way player will join Atlanta ahead of Tuesday's game against the Pistons to provide some extra reinforcement in the frontcourt with Onyeka Okongwu (knee), Kristaps Porzingis (knee) and Zaccharie Risacher (hip) all listed as questionable for the contest. Even if all three players sit out, Toppin isn't guaranteed to be included in head coach Quin Snyder's rotation.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Logs 12 minutes Monday

Toppin (hip) tallied four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-4 FT) and two assists across 12 minutes in Monday's 122-113 preseason loss to the Rockets. After missing the Hawks' final two Summer League games due to a hip injury, Toppin returned to game action. The 25-year-old signed a two-way contract with the Hawks in July. He appeared in 23 G League outings between the College Park Skyhawks and Westchester Knicks in 2024-25, averaging 22.4 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists across 36.6 minutes per game. He'll likely spend most of the 2025-26 campaign with the Skyhawks.

Toppin (hip) has been ruled out for Thursday's Summer League game against the Grizzlies, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Won't return Monday

Toppin (hip) will not return to Monday's Summer League game against the Rockets, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Toppin headed to the locker room late in the second quarter with what was initially labeled a groin injury. He returned to start the second half but has since been ruled out for the rest of the game with left hip aggravation. The wing recorded 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 3-4 FT) in 15 minutes Monday. His next opportunity to play will be Thursday against the Grizzlies.

Toppin (groin) will start the second half of Monday's Summer League game against the Rockets, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Toppin limped to the locker room near the end of the first half due to an apparent groin injury. However, he'll give it a go in the second half after recording 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 12 minutes in the first.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Double-doubles in win

Toppin racked 19 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 27 minutes during Friday's Summer League 105-98 win against the Heat. Toppin got the job done on the glass Friday, as he ripped down a game-high 10 boards. Kobe Bufkin led the way in the scoring column with a game-high 29 points, while the two combined for 48 to lead Atlanta to its first win to get the Summer League underway in Las Vegas.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Remains out Thursday

Toppin (calf) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Nets. Toppin remains out with a left calf strain, which has sidelined him since March 28 when he suffered the injury in the G League. He'll be with the Hawks for the remainder of the regular season, but there are only two games left on the schedule that he could potentially suit up for, as he's ineligible to play in postseason games under his two-way contract.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Ruled out for Saturday

Toppin (calf) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Knicks, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Toppin has yet to suit up for the Hawks this season and is still rehabbing a right calf injury that he sustained in late March while playing for the G League's College Park Skyhawks. His next chance to feature will come Sunday against Utah.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Ruled out for Tuesday

Toppin has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Trail Blazers due to right calf soreness. Toppin is dealing with a right calf injury that he sustained in the G League, though his absence shouldn't cause any waves in the rotation, as he has yet to suit up for the Hawks this season. His next chance to play for the parent club will come Wednesday against the Mavericks.

  • Hawks' Jacob Toppin: Receives two-way deal

The Hawks will sign Toppin to a two-way deal Tuesday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. After being cut by the Knicks on Sunday, Toppin will find a home with a new organization on another two-way deal. The 24-year-old forward began the season under a two-way pact with New York, but he struggled to see playing time at the NBA level, averaging 3.1 minutes per game over 16 appearances. His playing-time outlook won't dramatically improve in Atlanta, so Toppin could end up seeing most of his opportunities in the G League with the College Park Skyhawks.

  • Jacob Toppin: Waived by New York

The Knicks waived Toppin on Sunday. Re-signed by New York to a two-way contract in August, Toppin appeared in just 16 games for the parent club, averaging just 3.1 minutes per contest. Because he had been active for the maximum 50 games allotted to two-way players, Toppin was no longer eligible to suit up in NBA games for the rest of the season. The Knicks will presumably look to bring in another two-way player who has the flexibility to contribute at both the NBA and G League levels.

  • Knicks' Jacob Toppin: DNP on Friday

Toppin (ankle) did not play in Friday's preseason finale versus the Wizards. Toppin's absence marks two straight to close out the Knicks' preseason due to a sprained ankle. New York does not tip its regular season off until Tuesday in Boston, so he will have a few more days to recover. He is competing for a depth role at forward with the club.

  • Knicks' Jacob Toppin: Doesn't play Tuesday

Toppin (ankle) didn't play in Tuesday's preseason 111-105 win over the Hornets. While the Knicks have yet to provide an injury update on Toppin, he missed his second straight contest while dealing with a sprained ankle. His final chance to suit up this preseason is Friday's matchup with Washington.

  • Jacob Toppin: Deal with New York expires

Toppin became a free agent Saturday after his 10-day contract with the Knicks expired, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports. Toppin has been a member of the Knicks' roster all season, but he was recently moved off a two-way deal to a 10-day contract. The Knicks will have the option of retaining Toppin on a second 10-day pact, but it's unclear if they'll do so or if they'll look to use the open roster spot on another player. Toppin has appeared in just eight games at the NBA level this season, averaging 1.6 points and 0.9 rebounds in 4.6 minutes.

  • Knicks' Jacob Toppin: Recalled to NBA

New York recalled Toppin from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Wednesday. Toppin was sent to Westchester on Wednesday morning to presumably practice but has since returned to the NBA club. He's made just eight NBA appearances this season, averaging 4.6 minutes per game.

  • Knicks' Jacob Toppin: Upgraded to 10-day deal

The Knicks signed Toppin to a 10-day contract Thursday, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Toppin had been occupying one of the Knicks' three two-way slots, but he'll now move on to the 15-man roster along with fellow 10-day signee DaQuan Jeffries prior to Thursday's game in Philadelphia. The undrafted rookie out of Kentucky is averaging just 2.6 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.6 minutes across his five NBA appearances so far in 2023-24 and may continue to see most of his time in the G League with the Westchester Knicks, despite the fact that he's no longer a two-way player.
