  • Donovan Williams: Waived by New York

The Knicks waived Williams on Thursday, Steve Popper of Newsday reports. Williams signed a training camp deal with the Knicks in early October but is now likely to join the club's G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, for the 2025-26 campaign. The 24-year-old appeared in 35 outings with Westchester last season, during which he averaged 17.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists across 30.3 minutes per game.

  • Knicks' Donovan Williams: Lands with New York

Williams signed a contract with the Knicks on Wednesday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports. While the terms of the deal have yet to be reported, this is likely to be an Exhibit 10 deal. That means it's likely the Knicks are looking to secure his G League rights for him to suit up with Westchester.

  • Nuggets' Donovan Williams: Scores 16 in SL win

Williams chipped in 16 points (6-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), six rebounds, one assist and one steal across 31 minutes in Friday's 106-84 Summer League win over the Lakers. Williams was one of five Nuggets to score in double figures Friday, ranking third on the team with 16 points. The guard last appeared in the NBA during the 2022-23 season, logging two regular-season games with the Hawks and averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in just 2.0 minutes per contest.

  • Donovan Williams: Let go by Atlanta

The Hawks waived Williams on Monday, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports. Williams was on a two-way contract with Atlanta last season, but he appeared in just two NBA games, averaging 2.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 2.0 minutes. Despite his lack of NBA experience, the UNLV product figures to get at least another two-way contract from a different team, as he was a solid contributor for the College Park Skyhawks during the 2022-23 G League campaign.

  • Hawks' Donovan Williams: Scores 25 in season finale

Williams ended the G League regular season on a high note and finished with averages of 14.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals across 50 appearances. He was sent to the NBA club following the contest, along with Tyrese Martin, and figures to operate as an emergency depth option during the final weeks of the NBA regular season, per Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network.

Atlanta transferred Williams to the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Tuesday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Since signing a two-way deal with Atlanta on Jan. 14, Williams has yet to make his NBA debut. He should continue to see extended minutes whenever he's available for the G League club.

  • Hawks' Donovan Williams: Gets call-up

Atlanta recalled Williams from the G League's College Park Skyhawks on Monday, Brad Rowland of the Locked On Podcast Network reports. Williams received his first chance to practice under newly hired head coach Quin Snyder, but the change on the bench is unlikely to improve the two-way rookie's outlook at the NBA level. He'll likely head back to the G League in the near future and should continue to see most of his playing time with College Park over the rest of the season.

Williams posted 29 points (11-19 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in 40 minutes during Friday's 114-96 win over Maine. Williams was efficient from the field en route to a team-high 29 points, falling one short of his season-high mark. • Hawks' Donovan Williams: Out with left knee injury

Williams didn't play in Friday's loss to Motor City due to a left knee injury. Williams had scored in double figures in each of his first four games with College Park, but it appears he recently picked up an injury. It's unclear when the 21-year-old will return to the hardwood, but Trent Forrest, who was recently assigned to the G League, figures to handle point-guard duties until Williams is able to return.
