Lakers' Corey Brewer: Double-digit scoring total off bench
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer tallied 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-4 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 19 minutes in Wednesday's 133-96 loss to the Thunder.

After frequently seeing single-digit minute totals throughout the season, Brewer has experienced an uptick in opportunity recently. Factoring in Wednesday's contest, he's logged between 15 and 31 minutes in the last four games, and has logged double-digit tallies in six of his last nine overall. He's now posted back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts for the first time this season as well, numbers that have been partly enabled by a 56.0 percent success rate from the field over his last four contests. While it's difficult to gauge how much opportunity Brewer will see from night to night, the way he's responded to the recent playing time increase could continue to afford him solid minutes for the time being.

Lakers' Corey Brewer: Will start Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer will get the start at small forward for Friday's game against the Suns, Craig Grialou of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Brewer will replace Luol Deng in the starting lineup. He posted nine points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 12 minutes in Thursday's season opening loss to the Clippers. He will presumably see a heavier workload with his starting role Friday.

Lakers' Corey Brewer: Efficient off bench Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer collected nine points (3-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound, one assist and one steal across 12 minutes in Monday's 113-107 preseason loss to the Nuggets.

Brewer and fellow veteran Luol Deng provided identical scoring tallies in their first game of head-to-head competition for the primary backup role at the three. The 31-year-old Brewer saw a career-low 15.6 minutes per contest while appearing in 82 games with the Rockets and Lakers last season, but he could see a slight bump in that allotment in the coming campaign if he can prevail in the preseason job battle.

Lakers' Corey Brewer: Snags season-high four steals in season finale
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer contributed eight points (4-8 FG), four steals, two rebounds, and two assists in 18 minutes during Wednesday's 109-94 loss to the Warriors.

Brewer totaled a season high in steals, and he finished 2016-17 on a high note despite struggling for much of the campaign. A year after appearing in all 82 games for the Rockets, Brewer still saw the floor in 72 games this season, but the 31-year-old forward watched his role shrink considerably in his 10th season.

Lakers' Corey Brewer: Tallies 11 points in starting role Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brewer provided 11 points (4-8 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-4 FT), two rebounds and two assists across 18 minutes in a 119-104 loss to the Timberwolves on Thursday.

Making his third start in a row in place of the injured Brandon Ingram (knee), Brewer was able to top double figures in the scoring column for the first time in those contests, but that's probably the extent of his upside. As a veteran on a rebuilding team, Brewer won't stand to see his playing time pick up much even if Ingram is forced to miss additional contests. Coach Luke Walton has chosen to lean more heavily on younger bench players like David Nwaba, Tyler Ennis and Larry Nance to help cover for Ingram's absence.
