Jets quarterback Christian Hackenberg can't stop hitting reporters with passes
Hackenberg was off on a throw meant for Dexter McCluster Tuesday, possibly due to miscommunication
Hackenberg had a few errant throws on Tuesday, and one of them apparently deflected off a media member standing on the sidelines. It's unclear if the throw got away or if his intended target, Dexter McCluster, just ran the wrong route. Wide throws have plagued Hackenberg throughout camp thus far, but coaches have praised his overall arm strength as well.
Hackenberg, who is part of the Jets' trifecta at quarterback that includes Bryce Petty and Josh McCown, is trying to enter camp strong for New York. The Penn State alum is in his second year for the Jets after being drafted 51st overall by the Jets in the second round. It hasn't all been doom and gloom, and new quarterback coach Jeremy Bates has worked with Hackenberg extensively on his arm.
The next logical step for the Jets at this point is to bring media members on to try out as wide receivers for the team (and after the release of Eric Decker, it would be unwise to dismiss the possibility).
