No one knows who the Rams are taking at No. 1, not even the Rams
The Rams reportedly don't know who they're going to take at No. 1 overall, but Carson Wentz makes the most sense.
The Rams gave up a whole lot of draft capital to move up and grab the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, but they don't even know who they want to take.
In fact, no one does.
Take a gander around the sphere of NFL analysts and good luck figuring out who Jeff Fisher and Les Snead are taking with the top pick.
Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times is as plugged into LA football as anyone out there.
Rams have traded with Tennessee for the top pick in the draft -- Carson Wentz is the presumed target.

CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reported Thursday morning the Rams are "very high" on Wentz.
Browns will be happy because their guy has been Goff. Rams are very high on Wentz

Worth noting here: Farmer also couched his position noting the Rams are also high on Goff.
But Mike Silver of NFL Network is also out in Los Angeles and apparently knew who the Rams were taking on Wednesday night (because he knew about the trade, which was held up because of Kobe Bryant!).
I would bet they pick Goff, yes https://t.co/5FrLYexU1H

Appearing on NFL Network, Mike Mayock said he believes the play would be for the Rams to take Wentz, because he's a better fit for Jeff Fisher's offense. He's 100 percent correct too: Wentz makes the most sense given Fisher's preference for running the ball over and over and over and over again. Let him lean on Todd Gurley and a stout defense and let Les Snead's approach to quarterback wins -- by having your defense limit the number of points needed to score on offense! -- take over.
The comparisons may be a little bold however.
.@MikeMayock: You don't make trade like this unless you think you're getting guy like Brady or Luck. Wentz has upside to be 1 of those guys.

On the other hand, Jared Goff was born in California, played college football in California and is, according to some draft analysts, the top quarterback prospect in this class.
Jared Goff has always been the top QB in this class. No brainer pick at #1.

The NFLDraftScout.com rankings would agree: Goff is No. 5 overall in this class, while Wentz is No. 7.
So, yeah, no one really knows.
According to Peter King of TheMMQB.com, Les Snead and Jeff Fisher are still unsure who they'll take at No. 1 overall, but the Rams are taking a quarterback.
"I can tell you a final decision has not been made as to which quarterback that will be," King writes. "But they obviously felt that either Carson Wentz of North Dakota State or Jared Goff of Cal was capable of being the franchise quarterback the Rams have lacked during the Jeff Fisher era."
The Rams made this deal on April 14, exactly two weeks before they'll be put on the clock with the first pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. And just like the rest of us, they're still trying to figure out exactly who they'll take.
