Browns defensive coordinator Ray Horton suggested Thursday that disappointing rookie outside linebacker Barkevious Mingo put in plenty of time in the offseason in the weight room and studying the playbook, the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram has reported.
The 240-pound Mingo has shown flashes of brilliance, but has too often disappeared. He has just two sacks since recording three in his first three games. Critics believe he needs to develop a wider variety of pass-rushing moves and gain strength.
