Before Monday night, Sid Luckman held the Bears' franchise record for the most career touchdown passes. Luckman last played in 1950. Finally, 72 years after Luckman took over as the Bears' all-time leader in passing touchdowns, his record was broken.

On Monday, Cutler threw his 138th touchdown as a Bear. He has now thrown for more touchdowns than any other quarterback in Bears history.

Cutler set the record in the second quarter against the Chargers, when he found tight end Martellus Bennett off play-action for a 1-yard score. The touchdown trimmed the Chargers' lead to six points.

Cutler has been the Bears' starter since arriving in Chicago via trade before the 2009 season. As the quarterback of the Broncos for the first three years of his career, Cutler tossed 54 touchdowns, meaning he now has 192 passing touchdowns in his career.
