Kenny Lawler: Waived by Seattle
Lawler was waived by the Seahawks on Saturday.
Entering his rookie season, Lawler could find himself in a bit of a pickle when it comes to finding a new home. The 23-year-old has yet to prove himself on the professional leve, which could be held against him. On the other hand, the thought of the unknown could be enticing for some teams. Given the amount of injuries that will soon come once regular season kicks off, Lawler soon could be the subject of microscopic dissection.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: Fails to catch only target Friday
Lawler (ankle) played 15 snaps Friday but didn't catch his lone target in Seattle's preseason game against the Chiefs.
Lawler has virtually no chance of making the roster. The team likely will keep six wide receivers, and Lawler is no better than eighth on the depth chart. The Seahawks might try to pass him through waivers and add him to practice squad, as they did last year.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: Expected to play Friday
Lawler (ankle) is expected to play in Friday's preseason game against the Chiefs, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Lawler has been saddled with an ankle injury of late, but it seems that issue is a thing of the past. An impressive performance Friday would go a long ways toward helping the 2016 seventh-rounder earn a roster spot.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: No practice Sunday
Lawler sat out Sunday's practice with an ankle injury, Gregg Bell of The News Tribune reports.
The extent of Lawler's injury isn't clear. He'll need to return to full health prior to next Sunday to be able to play in the Seahawks' preseason opener against the Chargers.

Kenny Lawler: Added to Seattle practice squad
Lawler was added to the Seahawks practice squad Sunday, Stephen Cohen of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.
A seventh-round rookie, Lawler failed to impress over the final two weeks of the preseason, catching just one pass for 11 yards on four targets. Despite missing some time with a groin injury, undrafted rookie Tanner McEvoy beat out Lawler and a few others for the No. 5 wideout job. Lawler might still join the active roster within the first few weeks of the season, but he'd likely just be providing depth.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: Fighting for last WR job
Lawler caught three of six targets for 47 yards Thursday in Seattle's second preseason game.
A seventh-round pick, Lawler played well for the most part. He is battling for the last WR spot. His chances of making the roster could come down to how many receivers the team keeps. If it keeps only five, he'll likely be out of luck.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: Hyper-extends knee in minicamp
Lawler sat out of Tuesday's minicamp after hyper-extending his knee, Curtis Crabtree of the Associated Press reports.
Lawler, a seventh-round pick in April's draft, is vying for a spot on the bottom of Seattle's depth chart. Once considered a potential secon-round pick, Lawler's stock fell in pre-draft workouts as he exhibited a below-average skill set. The injury shouldn't cause any long-term absence, but is something to keep note of as training camp nears.

Seahawks' Kenny Lawler: Seventh-round pick for Seahawks
The Seahawks selected Lawler in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft, 243rd overall.
Lawler was widely identified as a potential second- or third-round pick prior to pre-draft workouts, but he revealed himself for a below average athlete at receiver and his stock fell from that point. Lawler has reel in catches from a big radius and has good coordination in the air, but he generally has the look of a backup.
