  • Jonas Griffith: Gets tryout with Cleveland

Griffith (knee) tried out for the Browns on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The linebacker reached an injury settlement with the Broncos ahead of the 2024 campaign after learning that he would need a second surgery to repair a torn ACL he suffered in August of 2023. Before those surgeries, Griffith was a rotational option for Denver, recording 46 tackles apiece in 2021 and 2022. Now, he'll look to revive his career after two years away from football.

  • Jonas Griffith: Hits free agency

Griffith (knee) will reach an injury settlement with the Broncos on Monday, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports. Griffith was waived with an injury designation Tuesday and reverted to IR after going unclaimed. The Indiana State product was working to come back from a torn ACL suffered in August of 2023, but he suffered a setback and will need a second surgery to help repair the injury. It's not yet clear how long it will take to recover this time, but it's unlikely he'll be on the field anytime soon.

  • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Back for minicamp

Griffith (knee) was spotted working out on the field during Tuesday's mandatory minicamp session. Griffith missed the entire 2023 campaign due to a knee injury suffered in early August, but he seems to have moved past the issue. Across his four seasons in the professional ranks, the Indiana State product has appeared in 21 games and has recorded 92 total tackles while also intercepting one pass. Now that Griffith is back at full health, he's expected to compete for a depth role in the Broncos' linebacker corps.

  • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Lands on injured reserve

Griffith (knee) was placed on IR on Thursday, Ben Swanson of the Broncos' official site reports. Griffith suffered the injury during a special-teams drill Tuesday when he stepped on another player's foot. Mike Klis of 9News reported the severity of the injury earlier Thursday, so his official move to injured reserve doesn't come as a surprise. In Griffith's absence, the team signed linebacker Austin Ajiake.

  • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Out for season

Griffith suffered a torn ACL during practice Tuesday, Mike Klis of 9News reports. Griffith left the practice field early Tuesday, but the severity of the injury was not known at the time. After further testing, it was revealed the 26-year-old suffered a season-ending torn ACL injury, which will require surgery to repair. It's naturally a blow to both the Indiana State product and the Broncos linebacker corps, considering Grifftih was expected to fill a rotational depth role after starting eight games last season. He'll now focus on his recovery and being ready for 2024.

  • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Sits out Wednesday

Griffith (undisclosed) missed the Broncos' practice Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports. The linebacker left the field during Tuesday's session with the help of trainers. • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Set to practice in full Tuesday

Griffith (elbow) is expected to be a full participant during Tuesday's practice, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. Griffith dislocated his elbow during the team's preseason opener and has remained sidelined since, but there's always been optimism he could return for Week 1. His return to practice is a good sign, but Wednesday's official practice report should give a better indication of his status for the season-opening tilt with Seattle. If available Sunday, the second-year pro is expected to operate as a first-string inside linebacker.

  • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Out 4-to-6 weeks

Griffith (elbow) is expected to be sidelined for four to six weeks, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports. Griffith dislocated his elbow during Saturday's preseason opener against the Cowboys and will be sidelined for an extended period. It's possible he returns by Week 1, but Denver will likely need a contingency plan in case he doesn't return until the later end of the initial timetable. Griffith's absence is a big blow to Denver, as he has operated as the team's first-string inside linebacker during much of training camp.

Griffith (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports. • Broncos' Jonas Griffith: Dealing with hamstring injury

Griffith (hamstring) is out of Sunday's game against the Jets. Griffith didn't rack up a single stat before suffering the injury Sunday, but his absence shouldn't affect many fantasy rosters considering he only has a depth role on the Broncos' defensive scheme. The availability of the former Indiana State product for next week's matchup against the Ravens will be monitored during the upcoming days.
