  • Eagles' Zack Baun: Double-digit tackles vs. Saints

Baun recorded 13 total tackles (nine solo) during Sunday's 15-12 win over the Saints. Baun has had an impressive start to his Eagles tenure, recording 37 total tackles, including 2.0 sacks, across Philadelphia's first three games. The Wisconsin product ranks second in the NFL in total tackles thus far, trailing only Nick Cross, who has 39 stops. Expect Baun to continue being a tackling machine and an extremely valuable IDP asset as the season progresses.

  • Eagles' Zack Baun: Monster night in Brazil

Baun compiled 15 total tackles (11 solo), including 2.0 sacks, in Friday's 34-29 win over the Packers in Brazil. Baun had quite the debut with the Eagles after signing with the team in March, leading Philadelphia in tackles. The 2.0 sacks matched his career total over his four years with New Orleans. With Devin White (ankle) unavailable, Baun took on some added workload at interior linebacker and made the most of his opportunity.

  • Eagles' Zack Baun: Working with first team

Baun worked with Philadelphia's first-team defense for the fourth day in a row Monday, Brandon Lee Gowton of BGN Radio reports. Baun agreed to a one-year deal with the Eagles earlier this offseason, and it now appears that he's got a real chance to start at inside linebacker. The 2020 third-round pick out of Wisconsin started just 14 games during his four seasons in New Orleans, but it seems that he is winning the positional battle against Nakobe Dean and could be lining up alongside Devin White in the Eagles' linebacker corps in 2024.

Baun recorded 30 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, and one interception across 17 games in the 2023 regular season. The 2020 third-round pick has been a core special-teamer since his first year with the Saints, but he's yet to log more than 30 tackles in a single season. Baun is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

  • Saints' Zack Baun: Participating in OTAs

Baun (ankle) participated in the Saints' OTAs on Tuesday, John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated reports. Baun was placed on injured reserve in December due to an ankle injury but is now back in action. • Saints' Zack Baun: Going to IR

New Orleans placed Baun (ankle) on its injured reserve list Saturday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports. Baun will have to sit out for the remainder of the regular season as he recovers from an ankle injury he sustained in Week 13 at Tampa Bay. The Saints will probably be forced to lean more heavily on Kaden Elliss at linebacker in the absence of the 2020 third-rounder.

  • Saints' Zack Baun: Looking good in new role

Baun logged five tackles, including one tackle for loss, and a pass deflection during Saturday's preseason opener against the Ravens. After playing on the strong side during his rookie year, Baun seemed to be a more natural fit at weak-side linebacker during last weekend's preseason opener. While he may not be much of an IDP prospect as long as he has to rotate with Kwon Alexander and second-round rookie Pete Werner (leg), that could change if Werner continues to miss time and/or something happens to Alexander, who's bouncing back from an Achilles injury that ended his 2020 campaign.

  • Saints' Zack Baun: Shifting to weakside linebacker

Baun will compete for the starting job at weakside linebacker in training camp, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. The 2020 third-round pick worked on the strongside as a rookie but played only 82 defensive snaps. Baun could earn a larger role in 2021 with a strong showing in camp, though Demario Davis should remain the leader of the unit.

  • Saints' Zack Baun: Bayou bound

The Saints selected Baun in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 74th overall. The Wisconsin product was billed as a potential first-round selection, so this is a nice value for the Saints, who traded up with the Browns to get him. Baun was a monster off the edge for the Badgers, racking up 12.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss as a senior. He has athleticism as well, showing out at the combine with a 4.65-second 40-yard dash. Baun can be used as a pass rusher or he can play off-ball linebacker. He missed the 2017 season due to a foot injury but started all 27 games in his last two years.
