Hazelton was waived by the Texans on Tuesday, Adam Wexler of SportsTalk790 reports.
Hazelton spent most of his 2021 rookie season on and off Houston's practice squad before signing a reserve/future contract with the team in January. The undrafted wideout out of Missouri was presumably waived to help make room for newly signed cornerback Fabian Moreau on the Texan's 90-man offseason roster. Hazelton will now have a chance to get picked up off waivers and compete for a roster spot with a new team this offseason.

Hazelton rejoins the Texans' practice squad after being cut Dec. 8. The undrafted rookie was originally signed by Houston before being cut Aug. 11, where he then headed to Green Bay before linking back up with the Texans on Oct. 6. He'll hope to stick around longer this time and eventually earn a shot on the active roster.

Hazelton signed with Houston as a UDFA in the spring but will be let go after going through the first couple weeks of training camp. He appeared in eight games during his final collegiate season at Missouri in 2020 and caught 30 passes for 397 yards and a touchdown.

The Texans signed Hazelton as an undrafted rookie Friday.
Hazelton played a role as a big-bodied specialist for contested catches during his collegiate career. After initially joining Ball State back in 2016, Hazelton transferred to Virginia Tech. He was thus forced to sit out the 2017 season, but from 2018-19 he logged back-to-back All-ACC seasons for Virginia Tech. In 2020, he joined Missouri as a graduate transfer and started four of nine games.
