Ben Nikkel: Let go with injury settlement
The Commanders waived Nikkel (undisclosed) from injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Nikkel was waived by the Commanders on Aug. 20 with an undisclosed injury designation, and he reverted to the team's IR one day later after going unclaimed off waivers. That would've forced him to miss the entire 2024 season, but with the injury settlement, Nikkel can now join another team once he's fully healthy.

Commanders' Ben Nikkel: Shifts to IR
Nikkel (undisclosed) cleared waivers and has reverted to the Commanders' injured reserve list Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Nikkel will now be forced to miss all of the 2024 season unless he and the Commanders can reach an injury settlement at some point this season. The Iowa State product has yet to appear in an NFL game and was likely on the outside looking in for Washington's 53-man roster.

Ben Nikkel: Gets waived by Washington
The Commanders waived Nikkel (undisclosed) with an injury settlement Tuesday per the NFL's transaction log.
It's not clear at this point how Nikkel got hurt or how severe the injury he's dealing with is. In any case, the injury settlement is good news for him, as it means he won't be required by rule to sit out for the entire 2024 season.
