Top Ontaria Wilson News

  • Ontaria Wilson: Doesn't make roster

Wilson was waived by the Jets on Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.

Wilson hasn't made an NFL team out of camp since originally being signed out of college in 2023. However, he had significant success in the CFL in 2024 with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, so he could latch onto a practice squad or head north once again.

  • Jets' Ontaria Wilson: Signs futures deal with Jets

New York signed Wilson to a reserve/future contract Friday.

Wilson will get a chance to continue his development as a member of the Jets this offseason. He has yet to make his regular-season NFL debut since going undrafted out of Florida State back in 2023. Wilson's best odds of sticking around with New York will be to carve out a niche for himself on special teams.

  • Pokey Wilson: Does not make team

Wilson was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday.

Wilson signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent following the draft in April and was attempting to earn a depth receiver role. The rookie out of Florida State ultimately came up short, but it remains to be seen if he will catch an opportunity with LA's practice squad.

Wilson (undisclosed) passed his physical Wednesday.

Wilson will presumably be activated off the non-football illness list after passing his physical, and he should begin practicing soon. The Florida State product signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent this offseason after recording a career-best 495 receiving yards during his final collegiate campaign.

  • Chargers' Pokey Wilson: Lands on non-football illness list

The Chargers placed Wilson on the non-football illness list Wednesday due to an unspecified issue, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Though the details of his injury aren't known, Wilson is eligible to practice and/or play at any point during the preseason. The Florida State product signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent at the end of April after posting a career-best 495 receiving yards during his final collegiate campaign.
