McCollum opened the week as a DNP due to an illness, but he upgraded his practice participation over the next two days and has been cleared to play in Sunday's NFC South tilt. The fifth-year defensive back has 27 tackles (22 solo), seven pass defenses and one fumble recovery through six regular-season games.

McCollum compiled 11 total tackles (seven solo) and a pass defensed during Sunday's 26-19 overtime loss to the Steelers.
McCollum finished second on the team in tackles behind linebacker Josiah Trotter (12). The cornerback was also able to register at least one pass defensed for the fourth time this season. McCollum is now up to 27 total tackles (22 solo) and seven passes defensed over the first six regular-season games of the year.

McCollum (groin) practiced Thursday and might even see some snaps in Saturday's preseason game against the Chiefs, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
The cornerback had missed the previous week of practice sessions and was not expected to suit up for Week 2 of the preseason. While there's still a chance McCollum sits against Kansas City, he at least appears to be healthy again. The fourth-year pro sustained a hip injury in the Week 15 loss to the Falcons, and it now appears serious enough for him to land on IR. McCollum will be forced to miss the Buccaneers' next four games at a minimum, meaning his 2025 regular season has come to an end. Across 13 appearances this year, the 26-year-old tallied 65 total tackles and six passes defensed, including one interception. While he's sidelined, expect Benjamin Morrison to have an expanded role in Tampa Bay's secondary.
