Meander suffered an Achilles injury during Sunday's preseason game against the Giants, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Meander was unable to put weight on his leg and exited the game on a cart late in the third quarter, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reported. Meander did not record a stat prior to the injury. He is entering his second season as a pro and is slated to serve as a depth piece among the linebacker corps assuming he can return to health.

Meander was placed on the Browns' practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday.
Both Meander and Ronnie Harrison were sidelined with COVID concerns Thursday, while Andrew Sendejo moved off the reserve/COVID-19 list and rejoined the active roster. Meander has suited up in four games this season, most recently fielding 15 combined special-teams snaps Weeks 16 and 17 against the Jets and Steelers. According to league protocols, he won't be available for the Browns' wild-card matchup against Pittsburgh.

Meander (quadriceps) was waived by the Raiders on Tuesday.
The undrafted rookie didn't see any game action last season, after he was signed by the team as an undrafted free agent. Meander is now free to sign with another squad. He was let go in order to make room for fellow secondary player Isaiah Langley.
