  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Tracking to play Week 11

Steen (oblique) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Andrew DiCecco of InsideTheBirds.com reports. Steen was limited in Wednesday's practice due to an oblique injury. The issue isn't a long-term concern given his full practice Thursday, and the 2023 third-rounder should be available to play Sunday against the Lions.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Dealing with oblique issue

Steen was deemed a limited participant in Wednesday's practice walkthrough due to an oblique injury. Steen started Monday against the Packers and logged all 63 of Philadelphia's offensive snaps, but he appears to have hurt his oblique at some point in the game. The issue may not be serious given his estimation of being limited Wednesday, but a clearer picture should emerge with Steen's practice level Thursday. Steen has played in every regular-season and playoff game for Philadelphia since the start of the 2024 campaign.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Past ankle issue

Steen (ankle) was left off the Eagles' injury report Wednesday ahead of Friday's Week 1 contest against the Packers. Steen sustained an ankle injury during the Eagles' preseason game against the Patriots, but it now appears he's moved past the issue. Expect the 2023 third-round pick out of Alabama to serve as Philadelphia's top backup guard ahead of Friday's Week 1 affair.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Out for game

Steen (ankle) is out for the rest of the Eagles' preseason game against the Patriots on Thursday, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. The right guard was down on the field before walking off slowly, visiting the medical tent and being carted to the locker room. Steen has been dealing with the ankle issue since early in training camp. The second-year pro is competing with Mekhi Becton for the Eagles' starting right guard spot.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Back from ankle injury

Steen (ankle) was on the field for 36 offensive snaps (43 percent) in Friday's 16-13 preseason victory over the Ravens, per the NFL's official transaction log. Steen suffered a mild ankle injury earlier in training camp, but it appears he has put the issue behind him. When healthy, he is expected to start at right guard in the Eagles' offensive trenches this year.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Working with first team

Head coach Nick Sirianni told reporters Steen will serve as the first-team right guard during Wednesday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia reports. With Jason Kelce's retirement and the Eagles moving Cam Jurgens to the center position, Steen has been given the opportunity to start at right guard. Philadelphia brought in former first-round pick Mekhi Becton this offseason as well, and he'll be competing with Steen for the starting right guard spot throughout the offseason; however, for the time being, it seems Steen has the upper hand on Becton.

  • Eagles' Tyler Steen: Flies to Philly

The Eagles selected Steen in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 65th overall. Steen had such a strong run at Vanderbilt that Alabama targeted him in the transfer portal and brought him in to protect Bryce Young's blind side in 2022. Steen lacks ideal arm length for a tackle but makes up for it with size, anchor and solid technique. The Eagles have the best line in football as it is, but Steen will now have the opportunity to learn behind Lane Johnson before taking over in the future.
