    Scott was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

    The running back was also let go by the team on Aug. 14 before being re-signed a week later. Scott has yet to make an NFL regular season roster across four combined attempts with the Saints, Broncos and Cardinals since 2021.

    Scott was waived by Arizona last week, but he will now get a new opportunity with the squad. His most recent playing experience came with the Michigan Panthers in the USFL, where he accumulated 295 yards and one touchdown on 78 carries. The 23-year-old will now compete for a depth role at running back.

    Scott's signing came as a corresponding move to Marlon Mack being placed on injured reserve with a torn Achilles. With Mack lost for the season, Scott will look to secure a roster spot ahead of the 2023 campaign. The 23-year-old most recently played in the USFL as a running back for the Michigan Panthers, handling 78 carries for 295 yards and a touchdown. Previously, Scott spent time with the Saints and Broncos after entering the league in 2021.

    Scott was signed by the Broncos during training camp last year to offer emergency depth during the preseason but was waived after just a week with the team. However, he did garner playing time during his lone preseason appearance with Denver, totaling seven rushes for 23 yards. Scott, along with fellow recently signed running back JaQuan Hardy, will likely have a similar role again this year.
